Westborough, MA — Wakefly, a digital experience and web development agency, has partnered with Albert Einstein College of Medicine to enhance an internal web application that supports student transportation during clinical rotations at local hospitals.
Albert Einstein College of Medicine operates a web-based system that allows medical students on rotation to request car service transportation to and from affiliated hospitals. Previously, ride requests submitted through the site were sent via email to a third-party car service, requiring manual data entry and confirmation.
Wakefly was engaged to review the existing application, document functional requirements, and prepare a detailed build plan. Rather than rebuilding the system, Wakefly enhanced the existing ASP.NET application—optimizing functionality while preserving the client’s current hosting environment.
As part of the engagement, Wakefly replaced the manual email-based workflow with a direct API integration to the car service’s system, enabling automated creation, modification, and cancellation of ride requests. The team also addressed known bugs and improved overall application reliability.
In addition to technical enhancements, Wakefly provided hands-on training to Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s development team, ensuring long-term maintainability and knowledge transfer.
