Project Overview


Following a successful initial build on Kentico in 2018, the Space Coast Credit Union (SCCU) team re-engaged with Wakefly to migrate their website from Kentico 12 to the latest version, Kentico 13. The overarching goal of the project was a strategic "lift and shift," preserving the existing design and content while leveraging the latest Kentico technology to build out templates, pages, sections, and widgets. This transition aimed to empower the SCCU marketing team with greater control over their content, addressing previous challenges faced by non-developers in making website changes.

Wakefly's development team conducted a thorough assessment of the website, considering several years of management by SCCU developers. A comprehensive development plan and business requirements document were crafted, outlining the shift from older Kentico methods to the new approach of utilizing page builder widgets. Simultaneously, an Accessibility Audit was conducted to ensure compliance with best practices and adherence to WCAG standards, guaranteeing an inclusive and accessible experience for all website visitors.

Through an extensive client acceptance testing process, Wakefly achieved a nearly pixel-perfect rebuild of the SCCU website in Kentico 13. The SCCU marketing team now enjoys a user-friendly experience of creating and editing pages, anticipating a promising future with enhanced control.

Beyond the core project, Wakefly played a pivotal role in collaborating with SCCU IT to establish an internal hosting environment, supporting the seamless integration and optimal performance of the new site. This collaborative effort underscores Wakefly's commitment to delivering holistic solutions that extend beyond the immediate project scope, ensuring lasting success for our clients.
