Apple Federal Credit Union partnered with Wakefly to rebuild AppleFCU.org on the latest version of Umbraco, replacing its custom .NET website with a modern content management platform designed for greater flexibility and long-term sustainability. The redevelopment focused on preserving the robust functionality of the existing site while giving the Marketing team the ability to independently create, edit, and publish content without relying on developers.
The project included recreating numerous custom features and business-critical functionality within Umbraco, allowing Apple Federal Credit Union to maintain a familiar member experience while benefiting from a more intuitive and efficient administrative environment. Wakefly also rebuilt key integrations and developed reusable content components that simplify ongoing website management and support future digital initiatives.
In addition to the CMS redevelopment, Wakefly integrated several third-party technologies, including Finalytics for personalized digital experiences and Cludo for enhanced website search. A custom API was also developed to automatically retrieve and display financial rate information from Apple Federal Credit Union’s internal data source, ensuring rates remain accurate across the website while eliminating manual updates.
By combining modern CMS capabilities with custom application development and seamless system integrations, Wakefly delivered a scalable digital platform that empowers Apple Federal Credit Union’s marketing team while providing a solid technical foundation for future growth and continued innovation.
