Wakefly Named As Finalist in 2008 American Business AwardsSM

May 14, 2008 WESTBOROUGH, MAWakefly, an innovative Web development and marketing solutions firm, was named a Finalist today in the Website-Corporate Information category in The 2008 American Business Awards.

The American Business Awards are the only national, all-encompassing awards program honoring great performances in business.

Stevie Award winners will be announced during the annual gala on Thursday, June 12 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. More than 600 executives from across the U.S.A. are expected to attend. The ceremonies will be broadcast on radio nationwide by the Business TalkRadio Network and hosted by Liz Claman of FOX Business Network.

More than 2,600 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories. Wakefly will be competing in the Website-Corporate Information category for its work on the Invention Machine website.

For Invention Machine's new site, located at www.invention-machine.com, Wakefly was tasked with designing and developing a new website that effectively communicates Invention Machine's Goldfire innovation software product, reflects the company's brand on the web, educates the company's target markets, and generates leads. To solve this challenge, among many items, Wakefly designed a flash banner on the homepage that encourages interaction while readily defining Invention Machine and its software. The site's information architecture also allows users from different target markets to determine how Invention Machine can assist them. Finally, calls to action and customer success stories tailored by section of the site are featured on each page. These, combined with a Knowledge Center and a Contact Us form encourage lead generation in multiple forms and areas on the site.

Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs will select Stevie Award winners from among Finalists in final judging during the week of May 19. Finalists were chosen by business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging in April through early May.

“ABA entries grew more than 30% this year, so being named a Finalist is more of an accomplishment than ever before,” said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of The Stevie Awards. “It means that independent business executives have agreed that the nominee is worthy of national recognition. We congratulate all of the Finalists on their achievement and wish them well in the competition.”

“Invention Machine’s website was a fun challenge for us,” said Jon Baer, president of Wakefly. “We were asked to effectively communicate the company’s software offering while also redesigning and modernizing the site, and completing all these tasks on a tight timeline. Being recognized by The American Business Awards for the Invention Machine website project confirms Wakefly’s outstanding work in effectively communicating and positioning the offers of our clients.”
