Yahoo and Bing announced a 10 year agreement today that will fundamentally alter the search engine landscape in the near future. Here are the three big things you should know:
First, Yahoo! Search as an independent technology and search engine appears to be going away. MSN’s Bing will now power Yahoo! Search.
Second, the Yahoo! Search Marketing self serve PPC program is being folded into MSN Ad Center.
Third, premium display advertising (excluding self service PPC ads) for both Bing and Yahoo! will be sold exclusively by Yahoo!
Of course, there could be additional ramifications for items like BOSS or Search Monkey but these things remain to be seen.
