Situation

W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc. is comprised of more than 8,000 associates in 45 locations around the world. GORE™ TENARA® Architectural Fabric, one of the company's product lines, is a remarkable material that enables the design and construction of long-lasting permanent retractable structures and is available to architects, fabricators, and property owners for the design and construction of textile structures. GORE™ TENARA® is the only architectural fabric that delivers a unique combination of aesthetics and durability, to create, protect and extend the usefulness of any outdoor space. W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc. approached Wakefly with a need to design a new website for GORE™ TENARA® Architectural Fabric that would speak clearly to architects, fabricators and property owners, and also maintain brand positioning, advertising, and product presentation in the marketplace. The company also requested for the new website to provide a clean, professional design that appeals to architects, fabricators, and property owners, and to incorporate intuitive site navigation to make it easy for visitors to find relevant information.

Solution

Wakefly worked with W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc. in an iterative process to create a look and feel for the new website. The results of the different rounds are pictured to the right. In the final design, background images and a revolving flash piece were used to convey the feeling of standing under the architectural fabric. Target market positioning is easy to navigate at the left of the homepage, and calls-to-action for a free sample and to watch a video are place prominently on the homepage. Subpage designs carry this theme throughout. Following the delivery of the website design to W. L. Gore, Wakefly supported the company's internal team as the website was developed. After the website design project, the company also worked with Wakefly to design new panels for its trade show booth.
